Position : FISH FARM MANAGER
Techno net scientific ( Limited ) Group of companies based in Tanzania intends to Expand its Aquaculture Activities Based in Ruvu River Basin in Bagamoyo District.
The Company is looking for a competent fish farm manager to manage fish Pond farming projects.
Job Description / Duties / Functions / Roles / Responsibilities
1. To oversee the general running of the fish farm including the overall management of the facilities and other employees of the farm
2. To coordinate all fish farming activities including maintaining a hatchery, developing and taking care of broodstock and producing fingerlings including only males
3. Developing together with the owner an annual cycle of activities ranging from broodstock management, production of fingerlings, stocking, pond construction and repairs, water management, fish formulation and feed management and feeding, fish harvesting and management of the post harvesting losses.
4. Working together with the company to assess the markets and their seasonality to decide the best markets and seasons for harvesting.
5. Provide constant records of the production process and continuously update the company/owner on any new developments
6. Maintain continuous communication with the company especially on health and nutrition, operational state of the system, problems with water management and any other issues that may require immediate attention
7. The manager will be responsible for management of feeding regimes and the use of automatic (computerized) feeding system
8. Ensure adherence to national environmental and health standards and ensure that the activities are conducted in accordance to the laws of the land
9. Be flexible working together with the owner/company to adapt to any other adaptations or change of duties as may be necessary
Qualifications:
1. Ordinary diploma, advanced diploma or first degree in aquaculture
2. At least one-year hand on experience working in a completed cycle of tilapia farming
3. Competence in computer Skills , Construction and Water Engineering will be added advantages
4. Demonstrate ability to understand the fisheries laws and regulations
5. Ability to adapt to new technologies and learning new practical skills will also be added advantages
