Senior Program Officer – Adolescent, Maternal & Newborn Health and Nutrition.

Nutrition International (NI) formerly Micronutrient Initiative, is a Canadian based International Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) dedicated to improving the health and nutrition of women, children and adolescents. The vision of NI is a world where everyone, everywhere is free from malnutrition and able to reach their full potential. If you passionate about nutrition, NI is seeking applications for Senior Program Officer – Adolescent, Maternal & Newborn Health and Nutrition to be based in Dodoma, Tanzania.
The role:
The successful candidate will provide technical assistance to the Government of Tanzania to help them provide, on a sustainable basis, improved child, adolescent and women’s health and nutrition services using appropriate micronutrient interventions to achieve sustained high coverage and utilization.
What we are looking for:
A Master’s degree with a qualification in Nutrition, Public Health, Reproductive Health and / or Community Health. Minimum 10 years’ experience working in adolescent, maternal and child health, public health and nutrition / or related field in Tanzania or Sub Saharan Africa. At least 5 years’ experience in supervising child and women health and nutrition programs. At least 5 years’ experience in donor funded program/project implementation/monitoring and evaluation.
A full command of written and spoken English and fluency in Kiswahili. Experience with, and sound understanding of Tanzania health systems. Excellent presentation, teamwork, computer and interpersonal skills. Experience with micronutrient supplementation programs for adolescent, women and pregnant mothers is desirable.
