CURRICULUM WRITER & ILLUSTRATORS – ROOM TO READ


Room to read seeks to transform the lives of millions in developing countries by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. Working in collaboration with local communities, partner’s organizations and governments we develop literacy skills and a habit of reading among primary school children and supporting girls to complete secondary school with the relevant life skills to success in school and beyond

We are non-government, non-religious and work with many local NGOs and community based organizations to implement our programs. We currently work in Bangladesh, Cambodia, India, Laos, Nepal, South Africa Sri lanka, Tanzania and Vietnam – countries with a desperate lack of resources to educate their children. Since our inception room to read worldwide team has impacted over 7.8 millions children by constructing more than 1600 schools establishing libraries. Publishing 874 new children books tittle in 27 local language and reaching over 20,000 girls through our Girls education programs

CURRICULUM WRITER
The curriculum will
- Review, update and refine the scope and sequences for the production of early grade decodable and leveled texts for grades
- Write, review, update and refine decodable levels in Kiswahili history books
- Develop and finalize decodable and leveled readers in Kiswahili for grades on e and two
- Develop and accompany teachers guide for reading
- Develop student writing journals with printed prompts aligned with TGs writing framework and syllabi
- Develop and update handwriting notebooks for grade one students with manuscript
- Develop accompany teachers guide from writing
- Complete timesheet and submit them to supervisor every months correctly and on time
- Participate in all required Tusome Pamoja meetings, workshop and reviews

ILLUSTRATORS
- Illustrate all materials developed by the curriculum developers decodable and leveled text for grades 1 and 2 student readers for grades 3 and 4 teachers guide and student journal
- Illustrate the pre- primary teaching and learning materials for pre - primary student and teachers
- Illustrate the required arithmetic materials for the individual students kits
- Illustrate for the accompanying teachers guide for arithmetic
- Complete timesheet and submit them to supervise every month correctly and on time
- Participate in all required Tusome Pamoja meetings, workshop and reviews
