JOB PURPOSE
WFP Tanzania seeks a Finance Officer (FtMA) who under the management of the FtMA Country Coordinator, and with professional guidance from the FtMA Regional Finance Manager, will be responsible for delivery of effective and affordable finance solutions to value chain actors in FtMA projects in Tanzania.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
The position holder will perform the following duties: 
 Analyze the need for finance solutions in collaboration with the Country Coordinator and the local FtMA coalitionAdapt the design of existing finance structures to meet those needs, blending solutions both from local/national and international financial services providers, insurance companies and development and donor agenciesEnsure availability of finance solutions for all actors in the FtMA supply chains (farmers and farmer organizations, off-takers/traders/processors, input suppliers, financiers etc.) in the national portfolioMonitor progress of finance delivery against planning, flag and take corrective action in case of deviation in the earliest possible stage and make adjustments to services as required. Actively participate in a group of country-level Finance Officers under the leadership of the Regional Finance Manager; offer assistance to, and share experience with, Finance Officers in other countriesProvide feedback to Regional Finance Manager on design of required products or finance solutionsMaintain regular contact with local Financial Institutions (banks, MFIs, NBFIs) that participate in FtMA projectsInterface with crop loss insurance and other risk management providersPerform other related duties as required.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:Bachelors or First University degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics or other related field, with additional years of related work experience.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written English and Kiswahili.
 
DESIRED EXPERIENCES FOR ENTRY INTO THE ROLE
·         Three years or more of progressively responsible professional experience implementing banking or development finance solutions with exposure to the Food and Agribusiness sector.
·         Work experience in Africa and especially Eastern / Southern Africa markets and engagement experience with the private sector are both essential.
·         Ability to work in a team, and establish effective working relations with results-oriented private and private sector partners as well as internal WFP clients.
