ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT
These jobs are found in Headquarters (HQ), Regional Bureaux (RBs) or Country Offices (COs) and job holders report to a Regional Programme Advisor .
Job holders are likely to be working under the close support and guidance of a more experienced professional staff member receiving guidance and regular feedback on work performed. They are typically involved in programme or policy activities or similar nature and analytical work of limited complexity.
JOB PURPOSE
To provide support to policy and programme activities that effectively meet food assistance needs.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive)
Coordinate at the RB level with the 8 COs in the region the training and implementation of the ICA, SLP and CBPP both with WFP, government and CPsIdentify opportunities for ‘staffing exchanges’ between COs within the region (using a seasonal peek support model)Manage the day to day oversight and CO support for the design, implementation and completion of the CO’s FFA roadmaps and all activities.Coordinate RBN-Programme multi-unit support missions (i.e. FFA with NUT/M&E/SSN/RES/SAMs/Insurance/PI & KM)Be accountable for and ensure through oversight and tracking CO compliance of 2017/18 risk mitigation SoPS, FLA Annexes and AgreementsIdentify and communicate, via the RBN PPO for FFA to OSZPR, new opportunities and gaps in the designing, planning, implementing, monitoring, and reporting of FFA at the CO levelLiaise with OSZPR on the identification and development of multi-year FFA/DRR/Resilience donor (traditional and non-traditional) proposals with the RB Donor Relations and Partnerships Office.
Deliverables:
At least 4 CO support missions;All country strategies, project proposal, budget revisions and other documents are in line with the new corporate FFA guidelines;Prepare at least 3 bi-monthly updates on the progress on the CO FFA roadmaps for circulation and briefing to the regional programme team;At least 3 case studies identified to document the impact of current programme on different kind of decision-making and their impact on food and nutrition security;Ensure that all 8 COs have developed FFA risk registers and have specific 2017/18 risk mitigation SOPs, FLA Annexes and Agreements.

Functional Competencies:
Understanding of issues related to gender in food security and nutrition, particularly humanitarian programmes and operations in the region of concern;Excellent research, analysis and synthesis skills required;Excellent report writing skills required;Excellent understanding of strategic and managerial results framework and performance reporting, as these relate to FFA programmes.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Advanced University degree in Engineering, Agriculture, Environmental Science or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.
Language: Enflish, Fluency (level C)
Experience: At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in programme management and/or technical research; experience of leading the development of reports/policies, particularly focusing on FFA; experience working with the United Nations system and knowledge of UN structure
TERMS AND CONDITIONS
