Ruaha Catholic University (RUCU) former (Ruaha University College (RUCO), Iringa. invites suitably qualified Tanzanian and Non Tanzanian candidates for admission to various Degree courses for the academic year 2017/2018.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSIONS INTO DIPLOMA AND CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2017/2018.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ADMISSION:
I: DIPLOMA PROGRAMMES
1:Diploma in Computer Science
(a):Direct Entry:
Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) relevant passes (i.e D grade or higher) including; Chemistry OR Biology OR Physics OR Computer studies OR Mathematics.
AND
An Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least three subsidiary passes in relevant subject.
(b):Equivalent Qualifications
Holder of Technician Certificate (NTA 5) in relevant course; OR
Possession of Non-NTA Certificate in relevant programmes;
2:Diploma in Law
A. Direct Entry Requirements
Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) relevant passes (i.e D grade or higher) including; Arts Subjects English is a must.
AND
An Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least three subsidiary passes in relevant subject.
3: Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences (DMLS)
(a)Direct Entry requirements:
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(CSEE) or East Africa Certificate of Education(EACE) with credit passes in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, A-Level Certificate is an added advantage.
N.B: Biology and Chemistry should be major subjects.
(b)Equivalent Qualifications:
Holder of Certificate in Medical Laboratory Science (2) Years with a working experience and pass special Examination set by RUCU.
4: Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences (DPS)
(a)Direct Entry requirements:
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education Examination(CSEE) with three(3) credits in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. A-Level Certificate is an added advantage.
N.B: Biology and Chemistry should be major subjects.
(b)Equivalent
The applicant should be a Pharmaceutical Assistant with at least 3 years of work experience and pass a Special Selection Examination set by RUCU.
5:Diploma in Business Administration
(a)Direct Entry requirements:
Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) relevant passes (i.e D grade or higher) including; Bookkeeping, Commerce OR Mathematics.
AND
An Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (ACSEE) with at least three subsidiary passes in relevant subject.
(b):Equivalent Qualifications
Holder of Technician Certificate (NTA 5) in relevant course; OR
Possession of Non-NTA Certificate in relevant programmes;
6:Diploma in Library and Information Studies(DLIS)
(a)Direct Entry requirements:
Holders of Certificate of Secondary Education Examination (CSEE) with at least four (4) relevant passes (i.e D grade or higher) English is a must.
(b)Equivalent Qualifications:
Holder of Technician Certificate (NTA 5) in relevant course; OR
Possession of Non-NTA Certificate in relevant programmes;
II: CERTIFICATE PROGRAMMES
GENERAL ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
For all Certificate programmes one must have at least four passes (D) at O-level.
1:Certificate in Computer Science (CCS)
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education with at least four passes including Mathematics or Geography or Chemistry or Physics, English is a must.
2:Certificate in Medical Laboratory Sciences (CMLS)
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education with at least five passes in Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English
CertificateinLaw (CLAW)
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education with at least four passes, English is a must.
CertificateinBusinessAdministration
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education with at least four passes including Bookkeeping or Commerce or Mathematics or Geography or Chemistry or Physics.
Certificate in Library Information Studies
A candidate must have a Certificate of Secondary Education with at least four passes
N.B RUCU will also admit a limited number of students with special needs (SN) for three categories namely partial deaf (10), low vision (10) and physical disabilities (5).
